Hallo.

vielen Dank
Barry

Hi Barry, Welcome to the "best" camping forum! :D

Perhaps this could be helpful link:
http://home.arcor.de/telbus/womo-sp/index.html
(good geo-coordinates)

Please note - in some places "free camping" unfortunately strictly prohibited in Austria - strictly it is seen in: Salzburg, Innsbruck, Kitzbühel .... for example!
But in many places it is accepted, although "individual camping" is banned in almost all of Austria...

Have a good journey and a great stay in our country!!

greetings
gerilu

by the way, no problem if you write in english, it's sometimes
easier to understand then the googlefish-results. ;)

Its early days yet but our intinary is looking like Austria, Slovenia and Croatia for perhaps three months starting in May.

Can you tell me what sort of Weather to expect in May in Austria please?

Thanks again

hi barry,
swimming season starts officially in some places at the 1st of may, but depends on the weather... (to make the only possible serious forecast :D)

this link (http://www.online-reisefuehrer.com/europa/oesterreich/klimatabelle-reisezeit.htm) might be helpful.

climate in austria is a continental one. more differences between night
and day, and normally not so quick changes then on a coast. a couple
of days rain or sun is not unusual. from my experiences it's about 5 to 10 c
warmer then at englands coast. but even if it's not sunny and hot, here are
a lot of spots which are really worth of visiting.

may i ask where are you from in gb?

:D:D:D You would be very welcome!

I am looking forward to getting back to mainland Europe for some good German or Belgian beer. We can get it here but its expensive.

Im just getting to grips with the meinwomo.net site. It seems quite comprehensive.

hmmm - there is only one small problem....
in Austria there are always a piece of "glass" without beer - not as usual in GB - glasses filled to the top .... :D:D:D:D

you simply have to order a bottle instead of a glass... :D
but anyway, in your rv you've normally canned beer.
